CHARTER POLICIES
- Regular charters entitle the purchasing customer to use the aircraft’s full available seat and payload capacity on a single out and back flight from Merrill Field, Anchorage.
- Flat rate charters in the Prince William Sound, which are based on a reduced hourly rate, also entitle the purchasing customer to use the aircraft’s full available seat and payload capacity on a single out and back flight from Merrill Field, Anchorage. However, any unused capacity may be sold by AAT to other customers. If a Prince William Sound charter customer desires to “close” the charter to other customers or their freight, they may purchase a “closed” charter at a higher rate.
- At your destination, you may release the aircraft to return to Merrill Field, or you may choose to have the aircraft and crew standby and wait for you. There is a fee for this standby service, and we will help you to determine whether it is more economical to use standby, or to release the aircraft and have it return later on a second charter flight for your pickup.
- Overnight trips are available, and are billed at a minimum of eight flight hours per twenty-four hour period away from our Merrill Field base.
- Wet rate: AAT uses wet rate charters, meaning that fuel is included in the base charter rate.
- Fuel differential: if your flight requires the purchase of additional fuel away from our Merrill Field home base, we will apply a charge equal to the difference between our home base fuel cost and the out-station fuel cost.
- Fuel surcharge: we will apply a fuel surcharge during periods of volatile fuel prices, if fuel prices exceed a preset threshold.
- Alaska Air Transit is required to collect a federal excise tax on the total charge for our services, including any additional fuel and standby charges. The FET rate is 7.5% for any passenger carrying flight, and 6.25% for freight only flights.
